About

My Story

I am Marlinda Rudolph, a South African, currently residing in the UAE, with my husband, Riaan, and I am a Lifestyle & Personal Development Consultant, Certified Nutrition & Keto Coach, Weight Loss Specialist, Life Coach, Counselor & Inspirational Speaker, with a special interest in sports nutrition and fitness.

I am passionate about getting real about real food, nutrition, life, fitness, overall health and wellness, transformation and inspiration and I absolutely love people and animals too!

I love to help people maximize their potential and quality of life in order to live a fulfilling and purposeful life while empowering them to fuel their bodies with the necessary nutrition to support this.

I believe that health and wellness is a state of physical, mental, spiritual and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

I have always had a great love for people and animals and have the desire to see them living their absolute best, happiest and most fulfilled, lives! I have worked as a full time counselor for many years, while training, equipping and supporting lay counselors and heading a counseling network across South Africa with the desire and goal to help people overcome trauma, and to help them identify negative thought patterns that translated into habits and behaviour that were not serving them well and seeing them transform and living the lives they desire and deserve.   

I’m crazy about real food and fueling our bodies for optimal health and wellness, for specific body composition goals (to loose body fat, gain muscle, or both) , for our fitness journeys or just to have the energy to optimally enjoy our general everyday life and the challenges that comes with it.  I also love the mindset works that goes into it!  Appreciating, loving and valuing our bodies as the incredible vehicles that they are that carries us around on this journey called life.

I have come to love and appreciate the fact that each of us and our bodies are so diversely unique and with the fact that we can actually become the architects and designers of the best and healthiest version of our own unique bodies, and the lives, we desire.   

BUT it hasn’t always been that way, and it has been quite the journey to get to this point….

I, myself, used to struggle with distorted thinking around food, my body image and my life, that lead to distorted eating behaviours and weight “issues” for almost all my life. I know what it feels like to be trapped in the ever-spinning hamster wheel and downward spiral of trying every diet you can possibly think of, not being able to stick to it, feeling like a failure, eating because you feel like a failure, trying again, failing again and feeling completely despondent, hopeless and helpless to break free from it all.  I also understand the shame that often goes with this.  I know what it feels like to severely dislike the body that you find yourself in, trying to hide behind baggy clothes that is supposed to hide the body parts that you are embarrassed about or trying to hide every time a photo gets taken (or offering to take the photo just not to be in it).  I know so well what it feels like to feel like you literally do not recognize the person looking back at you in the mirror.  The one with the very sad eyes, the unhealthy body that drags around more weight than feels comfortable or healthy and not functioning as it is supposed to.  A serious horse riding accident and many personal losses also left feeling physically and mentally debilitated.  

It left me feeling like I have lost myself completely.  My outside, that everyone could see, was reflecting the mess on the inside that I desperately wanted to hide.  I knew that things had to change.  I had to do something.  I had to pick myself up and do the mindset and physical work and find, and fight, my way towards a transformed place where I’m healthier, and stronger than ever.  

I know that changing eating habits is not easy.  Even when change does occur, it can become easy to fall back on old habits and because of this…

I had to:

  • Get very real, raw and vulnerable with myself about where I found myself and where I wanted to be;
  • Change my thinking around food, my body, myself and my life in general;
  • Discover and face my limiting beliefs and where they came from and exchange them for new truths and an empowering and growth mindset;
  • Exchange my old thinking, habits and behaviour that wasn’t serving me well for a new mindset, thoughts, habits and behaviour that serves me well and empowers me;
  • Build a support system around me and change the environment around me to support my goals;
  • Be accountable; 
  • Learn how to navigate my nutrition around, and incorporate it into, my real everyday life and make choices that support my goals and nutritional plan;
  • Learn to truly accept and love myself and to take really good care of myself and do what is healthy and good for me;
  • Empower myself with solid knowledge and apply it!;
  • Start exercising with a body that was severely lacking mobility.

  • Helping people create a lifestyle they don’t need escaping from due to feeling deprived;
  • Empowering people to incorporate and navigate their health and wellness goals into their real everyday life with its real every day challenges while developing a mindset they can also carry into every area of their lives.

my technique

  • Motivational interviewing (MI) 
  • An empathetic, goal orientated counseling style that aims to help you get unstuck from ambivalence (having mixed feelings about change) while increasing personal motivation to change.  
  • Collaborating with you to define your current and ideal self and form a plan that pursues movement from the current self towards the ideal self.
  • Help you discover your own reasons for change by providing acceptance and listening.  Keeps your specific needs, barriers to overcome, lifestyle, routines and challenges in mind.
  • Reframing your thinking about nutrition, your body, yourself and your life In order to change debilitating habits and behaviour in order to get different behaviour in order to get different outcomes and therefore a different life!
  • Reframing the way you look at food No need to feel deprived again or feel that you are on a diet, because you will be able to incorporate your nutrition in such a way that it will become a sustainable lifestyle in which you will be fueling your body optimally.
  • Collaborating with you You become the architect of your own change plan with the power to make informed choices for yourself.
  • Allows for autonomous decisions and support Allowing you to make your own informed choices, while being non-judgmental, taking your own possible barriers and concerns into account while helping you to become the architect of your own change plan.
  • Unconditional positive regard Support you regardless of what you say or do believing and assuming that you really do want to change and that you are doing your best to do so.
  • Not a one size fits all approached → The approach taken will cater for you specifically.  Collaborating with you to figure things out for YOU and what works for YOU and YOUR unique needs, and for your very unique body, lifestyle, likes and dislikes, personality, values, goals and possible barriers or challenges you might face along the way!
  • I journey with you through the good, the bad and the ugly while also being very real about all of it You will not be feeling that you are tackling the messiness of the journey all by yourself but that you have someone rooting for you,  cheering you and celebrating the small victories along the way with you.
  • I will challenge and hold you accountable in a non-confrontational, yet non-sugarcoated, way → This is worth more than someone who lets you stay the same and  lets you settle for less than you can be or you want.  People with an accountability partner are 85%-95% more likely to accomplish their goals and allows you to take responsibility and ownership of your story. 
  • I will empower you You will be able to incorporate all the changes you make into your real life in a sustainable way in order for it to become a lifestyle with you knowing how to navigate real life with all its challenges for example dining out, grocery shopping, social events, holidays and traveling, busy lifestyle, knowing how to easily make healthy choices that helps you move towards your goals.  
  • Help you discover both the why of what you are doing as well as the how to do it
    • Knowing the why will contribute to making the how easier and will carry you through when things get challenging. Empowering you with information in order for you to know how to do things to get to the ideal self you have in mind. 
    • Working on any of your body composition goals while keeping your optimized health in mind 1st It is about health first and not just about the aesthetics and looking good and feeling good in your clothes… but that IS an absolute bonus!
    • Help you do the necessary mindset work to make lasting changes Any lasting change starts with our thinking and our thinking determines our behaviour and our behaviour out outcome, so in order to change the outcome we need to have the right kind of thinking that leads to lasting change.  
    • Assist you in discovering limiting beliefs, thinking, emotions and habits, that are keeping you away from progressing towards your ideal self, and exchanging them for the type of thinking, habits and behaviour that leads to growth, positive change and transformation How we feel and think on the inside is often reflected on how we look, feel and act on the outside and in turn how we look, feel and act on the outside often effects how we feel and think on the inside.
    • Assist you in making small, consistent lasting changes one at a time → Making small, intentional and consistent changes leads to a big and lasting outcome.
    • Help you build a support system and environment around you that supports your goals In order for you to feel supported on they journey and know how to ask for and get what you need along they way as this has shown to lead to a higher levels of well-being, better coping skills, less anxiety and stress, improved self esteem, a sense of belonging and a longer healthier life.  You will get to know how to set your environment and yourself up for success.
